You might have noticed that there is a lot of chatter going about Cold Laser Therapy. There are large ads in the newspapers and commercials on TV all telling you that Cold Laser Therapies are a wonderful alternative to surgery- and they’re right! Cold Laser’s are non invasive which means that there is no surgery, no medications to take and no adverse side effects.
Cold Laser Therapy is a type of low level laser therapy (LLLT) which has been around for decades. Over the past decade or so, it has become increasingly popular as an alternative treatment for many conditions ranging from wound healing to Spinal Stenosis. Cold Lasers use a concentrated light that penetrates deep into tissue promoting a chain of chemical reactions. In human tissue, the resulting chemical reaction produces an increase in cellular metabolism of one hundred and fifty percent which expedites cell repair and increases the immune, lymphatic and vascular systems. The end result is a reduction in pain, muscle spasms, inflammation and edema, as well as lowering the overall healing time. It increases local circulation, flexibility, and range of motion. This is a wonderful alternative to aid in chronic pain as the laser is able to reach deep to the affected area(s) where other sources of treatments have been unsuccessful.
Below is a short list of some of the conditions that Cold Laser therapy has been shown to help. If you think that Cold Laser therapy might be an option for you, please do not hesitate to let us know your interest and Dr. Eiban will be more than happy to explain how the laser might benefit you.
